Jitter Box
Last updated May 19, 2026
Summary
Jitter Box does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information about you. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party SDKs. Your test history lives entirely on your device.
What the app records
When you run a speed test, the app records the following on your device only:
- The hostname or IP address you typed in.
- The date and time of the test.
- The measured ping, jitter, download, and upload speeds.
This data is stored in the local app database inside the macOS sandbox
container at ~/Library/Containers/com.cloudmanic.jitterbox/.
It never leaves your device.
Network communication
The app makes TCP connections only to peers you explicitly type into the app. When you enable “Listen for incoming tests” in Settings, the app accepts TCP connections on port 7878 (or a port you choose) from any peer on your local network. The app does not scan, advertise, or otherwise discover peers automatically.
The app does not contact any of Cloudmanic Labs’ servers, nor any third party, for any purpose.
Third parties
None. No analytics provider, ad network, crash reporter, or other third-party service is integrated into the app.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from any user, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy, the new version will appear at this same URL with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes (unlikely, since we collect nothing) will be called out in the app’s release notes.
